Do Some Good

You're washing your hands, staying at home, wearing a face mask when you got out, and practicing physical distancing, excellent! So what else can you do to help?

There are lots of ways you can help. The organizations listed below are just a start:

How you can Help Local Businesses

A lot of local businesses are suffering because of they depend on folks coming into their store, restaurant or other place of business - and that's no longer happening. You can help support them by making purchases for delivery or pickup (many restaurants and bakeries have converted to delivery/pickup). You can also help them keep going by purchasing a gift certificate for later use (when all this blows over).

Reach out to the folks in your community and see what you can do to help them - perhaps shop for a neighbor who is vulnerable or can't get out?

Self-care is Important

Give yourself a break from reading the news and take care of yourself physically, emotionally, and mentally.

  • Go for a walk or ride your bike (keep your distance - 6 feet from others)
  • Reach out to family and friends by phone, email, online, etc.
  • Check out some fun and interesting things on our Diversions page.
  • Try to get some good sleep (yes, that can be a challenge).

From Matt Haig:

It's okay to feel anxious. It's okay to feel depressed. It's okay to feel overwhelmed. It's okay to feel shocked. It's okay to feel everything. Allow it all. Let it all exist. And know that while these feelings will be replaced by others, it's okay to feel what you feel now.
